Alpental Sidecountry 3-8-2017

This winter has been absolutely amazing. I have some of the best days of skiing of my life. Every year, I take a ski vacation to chase snow, and this year ended up doing more of a staycation in the PNW, as Washington was suppose to get blasted with snow. My first visit was Mt Baker, which had more than 3 ft of new snow in the previous 48hrs! Unfortunately, my go pro didn’t work for most the good runs or got covered in snow, but it was definitely something I will remember, as Dave and I skied waist deep powder all day long. The next storm I targeted was for the 8th of March and ended up being one of the best days I’ve ever had at Alpental this year. Unfortunately, I had to ski solo in the sidecountry this day so my skiing was very conservative*. The powder was heavy but amazing for the steep Alpental sidecountry, that IMHO rivals many bigger resorts. Hats off the the Alpental ski patrol for working to open the backcountry gates as quick as they did! You guys are awesome!
